These resources will provide you with manipulatives your students can use when learning and practicing math skills.
This is another free resource for teachers and homeschool families from The Curriculum Corner.
Why should students use manipulatives in math?
Providing your students with a variety of manipulatives can help them as they are introduced to and practice math skills.
Sometimes people outside of education look at manipulatives as a toy for kids or something that will prevent students from being able to complete the skills in the future.
As teachers, our job is to teach children how to use manipulatives in a way that helps them develop a full understanding of the skill.
As they develop this understanding, they are working towards being able to complete the skills without the help of the manipulatives.
These printable math tools
We know that it can be difficult to provide students with all of the tools you find helpful. To help you supply your students with what they need, we are providing you with this free set of printable math tools.
These math tools provide a range of manipulatives.
Along with items such as ten frames and hundreds charts, you will find a math toolkit booklet for students.
Setting up Your Math Toolkits
We envision printing sets of the tools you will be using throughout the year on colored card stock and laminating for durability.
You can create a complete set for each student and have students store their set in a baggie or other case in their desks.
Or, if you are worried about missing pieces, you can create a class set of the tools as you need them and store by type.
Additionally, we have included a student toolkit booklet so that you are able to provide students with an easy to use reference book for math class.
