Working on number bonds
If you aren’t familiar with what number bonds are, start here!
Number bonds are a way that helps students visualize math facts.
They will show students that two numbers “bond” together to form a sum.
If you are looking for some math center work for students to use when practicing this skill, try this Number Bond Card Sort. This will offer your children an interactive activity for practice. This is always helpful before paper and pencil practice.
When working on number bonds, students are looking for the missing number.
They might be given two numbers that are added together to find the sum.
Or, they could be given one addend plus the sum. Students will need to subtract the addend from the sum to find the missing number.
About these number bond worksheets
This download contains a range of pages for practice. This will help you find a fit for each of your students.
The pages are divided into sums to 5, sums to 10 and then sums to 20.
You will also find pages that are more open-ended. Students will be given one number. They will then determine a pair of numbers that could be correct. These will have more than one possible answer.
Finally, there is a blank template. You can use this to create your own number bond practice pages.
