This is another free resource for teachers and homeschool families from The Curriculum Corner.
Creating a just right morning entry for your students
As teachers, we often enter the school building and begin our day by catching up with a friend or putting on calming music. We rarely jump right to work (although some days it is necessary!) Think about ways to provide a relaxing entry for your students instead of having them jump right into the work.
These bell ringer slides offer you one option.
If these are not a perfect fit for all of your students, you might choose to display the slides and provide other choices for students who would benefit from other options.
Students might record their responses on paper or simply discuss their thoughts with classmates.
What are bell ringers?
Are you new to using bell ringers in the classroom? Start here to learn a little about them!
Bell ringers are designed to be like a warm up for your students. Think of them like stretching before excercising.
They help to get brains and bodies ready to learn.
These might help some students start conversations. They might give others an opportunity to record their thoughts.
Digital September Bell Ringers
This set is a new morning entry option we are sharing with our followers.
If the other bell ringer versions we have shared don’t fit your classroom, try this new set!
This download will provide you with one slide for each day of the month – you will find a total of 30 slides.
While some fit a specific date, others can be moved around. This will allow you to choose ones that fit your students best.
You can display the slide of the day on your electronic whiteboard.
As students enter the classroom, they will read the slide and form their response.
Along with the slides, there is also a printable journal option. You can choose spots with a doodle picture for coloring or a blank space.
We are not envisioning the journal having strict parameters. You want this to be a calming and welcoming activity.
If you choose to use the journal, allow students to use words and pictures to share their thoughts.
