There are two color choices in the file. One has a colorful background for printing on white. The other has a white background for you to print on colorful cardstock.
Next, laminate the pages for durability. You are then ready to cut apart and place your cards in a container or baggie for storage.
How you can use these antonym matching cards
You will be able to use these antonym matching cards in a variety of ways.
This one set can be used for a range of activities so the work put into creating this can result in many different ways to practice.
As this set contains so many cards, it is important to provide students with a just-right amount for practice.
There will always be some students who thrive off of the challenge of matching all 45 pairs. However, many will find this a little overwhelming. It might be appriate to offer 10 to 15 pairs of cards. You know your students best so this decision is yours to make!
These are some of our ideas to use these for practice:
- Give students pairs. Simply have them match the pairs.
- Turn the matching into a go fish or memory type of game.
- Children can choose an antonym pair. They can then illustrate each pair to show how the words are different.
- Instead of drawing, have students chair an antonym pair and act out the differences.
