Fact/Opinion Sort Students learn about apples and pumpkins while also learning about the difference between fact & opinion. Graphic organizer also provided for quick assessment.
Vocabulary Words We have included a collection of words to fit the focus. (Also includes blank template for additional words you may want to include.) Four simple vocabulary task cards can be used to help students practice reading and understanding the vocabulary words.
Compare & Contrast Organizer
Fluency Sentence Cards Students can practice their fluency skills while learning about apples and pumpkins.
Recalling Facts Organizers Four graphic organizers for students to use as they recall the facts they learned about barn owls and wild turkeys.
Book Responses For these organizers, you can place a basket of informational text books focused on apples and pumpkins in a basket at a literacy center. There are various pages for students to use along with a book they choose.
Sharing my Thinking Students can share what they learn with these four pages. The blank pages with the apples and pumpkins titles are for sketch notes pages. If you have not tried this approach, you simply encourage students to share their thoughts using words and pictures.
