The holidays are a great time to help children learn about differences in our world. One way you might choose to do this is by focusing on holidays in other parts of the world.
This is one of six booklets to help you celebrate holidays around the world.
Our Chinese New Year Booklet
This Chinese New Year booklet contains 10 pages and can be printed front to back to help you save paper.
This booklet begins with a five paragraph passage that tells about the Chinese New Year. The other pages provide opportunities for children to read more facts, color and complete sentences about the New Year.
As a fun extension, you might look to share common foods eaten during this time of year.
There are also pages that ask children to research to find additional facts. These are marked with a tablet picture in the bottom right.
We have also provided two links to videos to accompany your focus in the classroom. Look for those below the download link for the booklet.
The first provides a Chinese tale that includes a good description of the New Year. This video would be helpful to share before children begin reading and looking through the booklet.
