This set of fall literacy centers is the perfect set of seasonal literacy work for fall!
This word work set will fit into your fall classroom curriculum perfectly. We have included many different resources to make your planning faster and easier!
To download the whole, free set, scroll to find the bold text at the bottom of this post. (Look for Fall Literacy Set.)
Here are the resources you will find in this collection:
Word & Picture Cards – Use these as a reading & matching cards activity or with our write the room recording pages. Or use the word cards alone for students to put into ABC order. A blank page has also been included so you can add additional words and pictures if you wish. Before beginning, have your students brainstorm words that make them think of fall and add them to your set! (You can find clip art online or stickers to match the words.)
*To set up Write the Room: Choose 5 or 10 word cards (or picture cards already matched up with the corresponding word cards.) Number the cards 1 – 5 or 1 – 10 depending on the recording page you choose for students. Place the word (or word & picture) cards around the classroom on walls, furniture, or boards. Students will go on a hunt around the room and write the words on their recording pages. This is a great way to get your students up and moving during word work time!
Pocket Chart Sentences – There are six different sentences, each on a different background page to make sorting easier. Laminate and cut the words apart to use as a guided activity with the whole class or in small groups. Need a literacy center? Place each set in a different envelope and have students unscramble the sentence and write them on the recording pages provided.
Fluency Sentences – These sentences are centered slightly to the right so that you can print them, cut them apart, place a hole punch on the left and put on a ring. Students might use these at a literacy center to practice their fluency with friends, or you might add them to individual student book bags for practice during independent reading. You might also choose to have students choose one of the sentences to write and show the meaning.
Task Cards – You will find 6 different task cards that can be used at literacy centers. Pick the ones that fit your classroom focus and needs.
Lined Writing Paper – We have included four options.
