Want to add something fun to the morning routine in your classroom and also spark interesting classroom discussions?
Bell Ringer questions are meant to become part of your students’ daily morning routine. The questions are a simple way to get your students reading and thinking from the moment they enter the room in the morning. EVEN BETTER, they are great discussion starters for your morning meetings or class gatherings.
To use these February Bell Ringer questions, print all the pages in color and laminate them for durability. Cut them apart and then add magnetic tape, sticky tack or whatever works for you so that pieces can be taken down daily and moved around. You will need wall space, such as a white board area, designated for your daily questions.
A “February Question” sign is part of the collection and can be displayed in the designated spot in your room for this daily question. There is also a collection of response cards including the words you will post underneath each daily question based on how students are supposed to respond. In this collection you will find:
- Yes/No/Maybe Questions
- Always/Sometimes/Never Questions
- Multiple Choice Questions
There is also a download of name cards that you can choose to print for your students. These are editable so you can type names on them or simply print & write names on each one. Laminate and add magnetic tape/sticky tack to them to get them ready for student use. (NOTE: To add names you will need to insert a “text box” into each frame to type on the cards.) Place the cards in a basket or arrange them on the board next to the question somehow. And don’t forget to add your name! Students will love to see how you answer the questions as well!
This set includes 28 bellringer questions that may or may not be centered on the month of February. (Some are just fun questions for students to ponder!) You will also find 22 questions based on birthdays of well known people or nationally designated days in February in the United States. (These days may or may not be “officially” recognized days! Some are just fun calendar days and their origin can’t necessarily be found.)
There are a wide variety of prompts so that you can choose a question for each and every day in your classroom in February! Because there are 50 question cards total, you will be able to choose what fits your school and class best or use different cards depending on the school year and days you are in the classroom. We have also included one blank matching template so that you can write some of your own questions if you wish or have students help to come up with questions.
