Our students can never get too much practice with basic addition facts. We are always looking for new games to give them extra help with memorizing these facts. To play Race to the Top, students will need two dice and markers. We like to use bingo chips in two different colors. The first player rolls the dice and covers the bottom number above the sum. It is then the next player’s turn. When students roll a sum they have already marked, they move their marker up to the next spot. The first player to reach the top in any column is the winner. We have also created a version where students find the sum of the dice and then add 10.
