Download these free synonym puzzles to offer your students synonym practice during literacy centers.
This is another free resource for teachers and families from The Curriculum Corner.
We have created these free synonym puzzles to help your children work on mastering matching synonym pairs.
It’s always helpful to have a variety of ways for students to practice language skills.
We know that many students don’t learn from completing worksheet practice. So while worksheets might allow us to check in to see what students know, they don’t teach anything new. Providing students with alternative ways to practice can offer engaging review of skills.
These puzzles are a perfect task for a literacy center. Students can work with their team to complete the puzzles.
Creating these synonym puzzles
You will find two options for printing.
You can print the pages with colorful backgrounds on heavy white cardstock.
Or, choose the plain white version and print on colorful cardstock to help you save color ink.
After printing you will want to laminate the pages for durability.
Cut apart your puzzles and they are ready to go!
Using these synonym puzzles
We are providing you with two piece puzzles and nine piece puzzles.
You can rotate these to provide students with a different task during the week or allow students to choose which is just right for them.
