We always hear that teachers are searching for new and engaging math games to help children practice math facts. Our goal is to continuously add games that will help teachers meet this goal.
This set of games is newly updated and expanded. We hope your children enjoy working on facts using these colorful game boards.
How to set up your winter cover-it games
Begin by printing the boards on heavy, white card stock.
Next, laminate the boards for durability.
Place the boards at a center along with two colors of BINGO chips.
Another option is to print the pages on regular copy paper. The players can choose a crayon. Instead of marking the board with the chips, they can color the boxes.
You might also choose to send a paper copy home with students so that they can practice with a parent at home.
Playing the winter cover-it games
This is a game for two players.
Each player will select a color of BINGO chips. (Dry erase markers can be another option for marking play.)
The first player will find a math fact hidden on the board. The fact can be vertical or horizontal but the numbers need to be touching.
They will then say the fact out loud before covering the fact. For example, the child might say 5 x 6 equals 30. They will then cover the 5, 6 and 30.
The last player to cover a fact is the winner.
