Looking for a new way to check in with your students after independent reading? Try these social media inspired graphic organizers!
During and after independent reading in the classroom, teachers often work to have a task for students to complete that can be used as a quick check in.
At times, it is good to think carefully about the work you are assigning.
These tasks can take away much of your student’s free reading time. If children are excited about a book and want to keep reading, we don’t want to assign a long task that takes away from this.
Because of this, we have been thinking about ways to create quick reading responses for intermediate classrooms.
We are looking to create responses that will give you just a small amount of information. This will allow you to keep up to date with what your students are reading on days when you do not have a conference with them.
These Instagram pages are ideal for children who enjoying drawing.
Because the goal of these pages is to help children complete a quick response, they are not best for children who do not enjoy drawing. Students who will be stressed by the task of drawing should be given a different option.
Students who enjoy drawing might find this task a relaxing break from the school day.
