This point of view review will give your students a quick overview and then practice.
Students can get a refresher on identifying point of view using these slides.
This is another free resource for teachers and homeschool families from The Curriculum Corner.
Ready for a point of view review?
Last week my students needed a quick review of point of view. They were familiar with the skill but sometimes mixed it up. I wanted something engaging and fast.
I created a set of slides to help me get started.
First, there is a slide that helps students determine the point of view.
As we went through the slide, we talked about why we would begin by eliminating the dialogue.
Then, we went to the first would you rather slide.
I had students choose their answers and keep it to themselves.
Next, I had them share with a neighbor. The student repeated back to them, saying you would rather…
Finally, the neighbor shared with another neighbor.
Afterwards, we talked about what point of view each used.
We practiced with the other slides.
In their reading notebooks, they recorded the title of their silent reading book along with the point of view the author used. Finally, they shared the evidence they used to help them make the decision.
Afterwards, I thought that I should have added in one additional activity. I created it now so I would have it for next year. You can have students search your library for an example of each point of view.
