These are another free resource for teachers and parents from The Curriculum Corner.
Virtual playdate charades will be a fun addition to your at home routine!
My 6-year-old daughter has a friend she likes to have virtual playdates with. But, after weeks of quarantine, they were in need of a little something new.
She is starting to say that playdates aren’t quite as much fun when you aren’t actually with your friend. I can’t disagree with that!
Paige then requested that I find a game they can play together. That task was harder than it sounds! I found a few ideas that would be perfect for kids who are a little bit older. Being in kindergarten, these two are in need of something with not too much reading.
Guess Who was a fun suggestion that can be played in two different places. At least, it’s a good suggestion if you already have the game! It’s currently out of stock at all of the places I looked.
I finally decided on a game of charades. The girls were sold on the idea so I put together some simple clues that would work.
These might also be fun to use as a morning entry task when we return to school!
Virtual Charades for Playdates
I created four pages, each with five words. I also included pictures in case kids need a little help with the reading.
My thought is that each parent can either print off a page or take a screenshot with their phone. Each child will start with a different list of words.
The kids can go back and forth acting out and guessing words. There are four pages so even a group of four on a Facetime or Zoom call will be able to play together.
If your kids love this activity, you can have them keep going by thinking of their own words next.
