Commenting on my own post! So funny! In my classroom we used a variety of trail mix type snack foods to place onto our 100s chart. Find 10 different small snacks and have students place ten of each on the hundreds chart in the boxes. Then the students must count by tens as they put handfuls of each snack into a baggie for a 100s day snack. (Some ideas: Cheerios, M&Ms, pretzel nuggets, raisins, Craisins, nuts, Chex cereal, Goldfish crackers, popcorn, Reese's Pieces, ANY number of other fun cereals). Food just seems to be such a big motivating factor for kids sometimes, doesn't it?! :)
