These Valentine’s Day Sentences with pictures will add a fun theme to your next literacy centers.
This is another free resource for teachers from The Curriculum Corner.
Add these Valentine’s Day Sentences to your literacy center rotations this February.
While these sentences do have a Valentine’s Day twist with a mention of cards and colorful hearts, they do not specifically address Valentine’s Day. The focus is on cards, snacks and friendship.
Creating Your Cards
- Print these sentences on heavy card stock.
- Next, laminate the pages for durability.
- After cutting the cards apart, place in a basket at a center.
Using these Valentine’s Day Sentence Cards
Students can practice reading the sentence cards for fluency practice.
To work on comprehension skills, they can practice matching the cards with the pictures.
Program the cards for self-checking by numbering the backs of the pictures and sentences.
Extend this activity by providing the students with blank sentence strips. Students can write their own sentence. They can complete the task by illustrating their sentence.
Another extension for this activity would be to turn these sentences students write into cut up sentences. You can cut apart student sentences. They can then work to assemble their sentences.
